Time and meeting point

Tour starts at 9:30am and at 2pm.

The Meeting Point will be at 9:30am or at 2pm outside your hotel reception, at the Maritime Terminal, at the airport, or at the mentioned location in Horta. The guide will be in a gray Opel van.

If you would like to start the tour at a different time, please mention during booking.

Itinerary/ What to expect

This is a standard itinerary for this tour. There may be changes in the places to be visited taking into account the climate, the season, or simply to meet customer preferences.

Nossa Senhora da Conceicao Viewpoint (15 minutes)

From this location you can see the city's historic center and Horta bay on one side and Almoxarife Beach on the other. You can also see the neighboring Pico Island and the highest point in Portugal, Pico Mountain. On days without clouds, you can still see the island of São Jorge and Graciosa. Without a doubt, a place with a privileged view!

Flamengos (passes through)

On the route to Caldeira do Faial we will travel along a road with excellent views of the entire parish of Flamengos. This is the only parish on the island that does not have direct access to the sea and is surrounded by mountains and volcanoes. Find out why it's called Flamengos!

Caldeira do Faial Natural Reserve (30 minutes)

Located in the middle of the island, Caldeira is the true ex-libris of Faial. It is one of the largest volcanic craters in the Azores, and was at the origin of the island, measuring around 2000 meters in diameter, 7000 meters in perimeter and 400 meters deep. In this impressive place you will have the possibility to take a short walk, take unique photos or simply observe what the force of nature can create.

Capelinhos volcano (40 minutes)

Place of great volcanic beauty. The Capelinhos Volcano is one of the biggest tourist attractions in the Atlantic, particularly in the Azores. Its landscape takes us to a lunar environment. Enjoy the contrast between the gray of the sands and the green of the hills and the blue of the sky and sea.

Cancellation Policy

Customers are free to cancel their booking at any time and receive a full refund up to 8 days before the start of the tour, excluding the booking fee and interbank fees.

Cancellations between 7 and 4 days before the start of the tour will incur a 50% charge.

Cancellations 72 hours before tour start or no-shows are non-refundable.

Customers will also receive a full refund (excluding the booking fee and interbank fees) or credit in the event of operator cancellation due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances.
